StoriedTails Community Hits 10,000 Pet Tributes
By Team StoriedTails

A milestone for our community of pet parents — and what's coming next.
This week, the StoriedTails wall welcomed its 10,000th tribute. Ten thousand pets — dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds, lizards, and more — each with a story that someone cared enough to preserve. It's a number that snuck up on us, the way meaningful things often do.
To put it in perspective: if you walked past that wall and paused for just ten seconds at every brick, it would take you nearly twenty-eight hours. Each of those pauses is a life. A name someone chose. An inscription someone labored over. A photo someone couldn't bear to lose.
To every one of you who added a photo, wrote an inscription, uploaded a medical record, or shared a memory with a friend: thank you. You've built something far bigger than a website. You've built a living archive of the love between people and their animals — and you've made sure that love has a place to live on.
Reading through the wall, what strikes us most isn't the grief, though there's plenty of that. It's the joy. The dog who stole a whole roast. The parrot who learned to call the cat a rude name. The horse who knew the sound of one particular car. These are the details that make a pet more than a pet — and they're the details that, without somewhere to keep them, tend to quietly disappear.
What's next? We're rolling out shared family tributes later this year, so multiple people can contribute to a single pet's story — a feature many of you have asked for. We're also expanding the directory of trusted vets and pet services to every state, and we're piloting a way to turn a tribute into a printed keepsake. Stay tuned; the best is yet to come.
In the meantime, if you haven't yet, find a quiet moment and add a sentence to your pet's page. Small words, written now, become impossibly precious later. We'll keep the wall standing for them — for all of them.
Here's to the next ten thousand.
